So… What is Betterific anyway?
You may already be aware of Betterific.com and fun things like Innovation Challenges that really connect individuals passionate about ideas with companies, but you may not know about all the great stuff we can do to help companies with things like product development, employee engagement and innovation.
Betterific is an Employee Innovation Platform that helps corporations easily crowdsource ideas and insights from their employees. We deliver innovative ideas and synthesized feedback to develop new products, cut excess fat from the organization, and improve both customer and employee experiences. There are different tools that we use to help with this.
Someone tasked with increasing employee engagement knows how important it is to give employees a voice. Realization of this goal is what Betterific can offer with our innovation management platform that offers an opportunity to give employees the ability to participate in team-wide, or company-wise, idea generation and idea validation initiatives.
For someone focused on innovation, it’s important to find an efficient and simple way to innovate and crowdsource ideas from all corners of your company and beyond. Our software helps keep everything in one place from concept to execution.
As a product developer, there’s quite a bit of responsibility–from generating all those ideas and keeping track of them to fleshing out the final product and launching it. Betterific is a great tool to use to keep everything running smoothly and to help create more profitable products. We have ways that help you brainstorm, a concept testing tool, and an area to collaborate and work all the details out with the people on your team.

It’s Back to College shopping time! (or just a good excuse to buy some fun stuff for small spaces). We’re really excited to announce the new Target + Betterific products. Some are even on the shelves already like this awesome sheet set. If I still slept on a Twin XL from my dorm days I’d buy these in a second.
Innovation is important when you have a small space and need some products to perform double duty. Target had the chance to co-create products designed to solve small space living pain points while still being super stylish. They were able to partner with us, the Betterific community, to launch a smart collection that makes small space living better.
We want to give a shout out to a few of the people who came up with some of the original ideas that turned into the featured products.

So… there’s this app called Carpe Society that’s in the Apple app store now. I just downloaded it and I’m still not really sure what it is, but it seems pretty cool so far. Apparently, it’s “A funny social media game that helps people make new friends nearby.” It’s a swipe left, swipe right sort of thing, but with personality types (according to the website I’m an uberhipster and the app says I’m a Foodie) and potential friends. Q: What’s your favorite color?
Jonathan: I always prefer if I have a splash of orange in my sneakers, so let’s go with orange.
Tatiana:I don’t even know what it’s called (phthalocyanine green maybe?), but this color is amazing.
Q: Do you have anything interesting about yourself that you want to share?
Jonathan: I may or may not have been the supervising party when my toddler fell of a swing and fractured his leg 6 wks ago 😦
I have a guilty pleasure of playing Call of Duty.
I’m a wicked backgammon player.
I make a really good Israeli salad.
Chip: I collect antique woodworking tools
Tatiana: I have a Youtube channel where I post one-take covers with lots of mistakes of songs I like.
Q: What does Betterific have planned in the near future?
Jonathan: Interviews with top tech leaders and innovators
Micha: We’re building an idea workflow to help companies better execute, manage, and collaborate on the ideas generated on Betterific.
We’re also in the beginning stages of redesigning the site, based on user feedback and usage. It’ll feature a flat, streamlined look.

Here at Betterific, we believe in a few things:
1. An engaged and happy workforce is a better workforce.
2. Positive company culture is the other half of a successful work environment.
There are tons of “tech tools” out there to help with both engaging employees and promoting company culture but out of all of them we have some favorites. We narrowed it down to our top five that we believe can really help reinforce a good company culture and help with employee engagement.
Company perks can help employees feel excited about the organization they’re working for. Aspire is like a one stop shop for perks and they make it easy to manage them too. It gives employees the chance to really choose which perks work best for them, making it a more personal experience.
Productivity and employee engagement go hand in hand. When someone feels as if they’re wasting time searching through emails and making unorganized lists, it’s difficult to be happy and fully engaged in work. Asana is a great way to bring everything together and collaborate in an easy way. We appreciate the transparency in the tasks and projects too. It’s something we use every day.
Slack makes work fun. How? It’s hard to explain, but it figured out a way to make the office cooler virtual (and sometimes private, just like the office cooler). Communication is an important part of employee engagement. It’s team communication that’s all in one place easily searchable. Awesome.
Happy employees=happy company. Tinypulse is the way to measure that happiness and look at the data in a nice organized way through weekly employee happiness surveys. It’s important to know if your employees are doing well. A lot of companies can keep trudging through the work without realizing that there’s any sort of problem. Once something like unhappiness is identified, there’s a chance to fix it. It’s also really nice for employees to know you care enough to ask.
Betterific (that’s us!)
Innovation is key to your success as an organization, but also key to company morale. A company that continually asks “What’s the next product or service we need to offer?” is a company that keeps its employees challenged and energized. Kevin Plank, who founded Under Armour (known for their sports performance t-shirt), has famously said, “Under Armour has not yet found the product that will define us.” In other words, our work isn’t done. Keep innovating. Keep throwing out crazy ideas. Our idea management platform is a way to start organizing and innovating, moving one step closer to those crazy, world changing ideas. It gives employees a voice and flattens the hierarchy that can sometimes interfere with employee satisfaction. Innovation should be a ingrained in the culture, and a great way to do that is by having employees start to think how things could be better.
Toyota was the first automotive company to benefit from our awesome community. The challenge asked us to think about what would make our visit to a car dealership amazing. There were lots of great ideas (84 to be exact) and it’s great to see all of them. We want to say thanks again to everyone who participated.
